Tucked away atop a remote hillside, lies a quaint little town called San Pietro in Valle: my mom’s home town. A hamlet of the larger Frosolone – one of I borghi piu’ belli d’Italia – I occasionally come here to unwind, get away from city noise and disconnect from the world. With a population of just 683, one main road, one bar, one church, one grocery store, one butcher, one jeweler and one pizzeria, it’s the perfect place to do it.
Lying in Italy’s non-existent region, this little-village-that-could offers peace, serenity and life in truest, purest and original form.
It’s so simple that there’s nothing there.
